Today we experience a crisis of tuning with nature and the world that has been anticipated by various authors since the 1960s and 70s. The modern obsession with making the world available, predictable, calculable, and controllable reifies our relationship with it, promoting links that are largely extractive and economizable. From a temporal perspective, this article argues that we are facing a crisis of temporal tuning with the world. The acceleration that is the temporal structure of modernity attempts to impose itself on the heterogeneous existences that make it up and that are regulated by other temporalities. Thus, the plural temporalities of the world emerge as points of aggression and human intervention. The objective of the text is to problematize, from a history of the present, the tyranny of human time, whose hegemony leads to a process of flattening the plural field of temporal experience. This problematization is constructed in discussion with postulates from the social and human sciences that are rethinking the dualistic way of understanding the social and the natural, especially proposals such as those put forward by Actor-Network Theory, Deleuze and Guattari’s rhizomatic model, and the varied contributions of the Ontological Turn. Based on a diagnosis of the contemporary temporality regime, the concept of Rhizomatic Temporal Tuning is proposed as a shared and relational destination to face the current tuning crisis, safeguard alterity, and defend the conjunction between plural durations. This concept opens up the discussion about the possibility of creating other paradigms of concatenation between human and non-human existences that do not function by connection but by conjunction between heterogeneous ontologies.
